Please allow me to vent as I need to let this out but posting on Facebook will just cause problems to the family of the person I'm talking about.
My mother in-law has dementia/Alzheimers. We are not able to watch her as she needs to be watched. We cannot get any assistance from Medicaid or other sources. So what my wife did was ask her friend if her friend's mother would be able to stay with us for periods of time to be a companion to her mother. Both are from the Philippines and Betty, who is the mother of our friend, is close to the same age.
We have a huge Okra plant in our backyard and it is currently 6 feet tall. Last week we had three Okra on the plant with two of them over 8 inches in length. I go outside and the largest one is gone. I ask and everyone says they don't know. I then go into the refrigerator and there is my nearly 10 inch Okra in a plastic bag in the vegetable bin. Turns out Betty, our friend's mother, decided to pick it without our permission.
So I told my wife to tell Betty that she is not to pick anything, trim any trees or bushes, or pull any weeds, unless she asks us and gets permission from us.
Early this morning I took the trash to the trash container in the back yard. I looked at the Okra plant and saw we had three Okra over 8 inches in length along with three or four Okra about 3 to 4 inches in length and a few flowers blossoming.
I came into the house and here is what I said to my wife: "We have three large Okra on our plant. I want YOU to take a look at them and if YOU feel we should pick them then we will pick them. But if you want them to remain on the plant to mature more then they remain on the plant. Since Betty picked the Okra before, without our permission, please tell Betty not to pick the Okra again until we give her permission to do so."
I took my daughter to the school bus stop and came back 20 minutes later. I happened to look out the patio glass door and noticed two of the large Okra that were there 30 minutes before were gone. I went upstairs and asked my wife if she picked the Okra and she said no. So I told her that Betty must have done it again without our permission. My wife got made and told me to stop assuming things. I went downstairs and, yep, there in the refrigerator vegetable bin were the two large Okra that Betty picked without our permission.
My wife went downstairs to tell Betty never pick anything in our yard without our permission because this isn't here house it is our house and we make the rules. Betty tried to use the excuse that "well the Okra were large so I wanted to pick them and cook them" and my wife again told her she has no right to be a guest in someone's house and do things like that.
And people wonder why, IRL, I get pissed off a lot.
